Montelanico. Local Chestnut Festival

The third weekend of October, the center of Montelanico is dedicated to the queen of the woods: the local chestnut.

The Local Chestnut Festival (sagra della castagna locale) is an event that involves the whole country and is the largest of the small village nestled in a gorge of the Lepini Mountains.

Food and wine stands will offer tastings of wines and typical local products, display of handicrafts from the Monti Lepini and a free distribution of roasted chestnuts.

A weekend of folklore and itinerant musical performances, exhibitions of handicraft and painting works and the “Il Riccio d’Oro” prize.
