Cittaducale. Fair of Saint Magnus and pecorino festival

On August 19, San Magno - Saint Magnus is celebrated, the Patron of Cittaducale and one of the most loved saints.

Traditionally next to the religious celebrations of the solemn mass and the procession along the streets of the town, Cittaducale held a cattle fair.

The market has been established since the 15th century by a certain Paolo Emilio Mancini who brought 25 cows in front of the church of San Magno and began to offer sales and exchanges.

It is the period when the shepherds were on the pastures of the nearby Monte Terminillo and in the cool mountain areas.

A few years later, the fair was held for about 8 days, coinciding with a palio.

Today it is celebrated with a pecorino festival - sagra del pecorino, perhaps the absolute excellence of this territory that offers particular pastures to breeders.
