Torrita Tiberina. Festival of Wild Asparagus

Torrita Tiberina. Festival of Wild Asparagus

In April in Torrita Tiberina everybody goes hunting for Asparagus.

The Festival of Wild Asparagus (Sagra dell'Asparago Selvatico) is a day dedicated to a delicious vegetable loved by all Italians and typical of the spring season.

From the smaller stem and head, this variety of asparagus prefers sandy soils and lots of water.

It is eaten alone or eaten in some typical dishes such as omelettes and focaccias.

The event is organized by the Pro Loco which, with its skilled volunteers, prepares a themed lunch, genuine products and typical dishes featuring wild asparagus.

A weekend of relaxation to discover the village of Torrita Tiberina and the culinary tradition that revolves around this local delicacy.
