Colonna. Italian Grape Festival

Italian born grapes in the '20s in the Institute for Experimental Fruit of Rome by a cross between Bicane vines and Muscat of Hamburg.

It is grown for the first time in Colonna in the 50s and in 1961 founded the first Italian edition of the Grape Festival.

During the festival there is a free distribution of Italian Grapes along the streets of the historic centre and a traditional crushing race.

All the cellars of the old town are open and show the traditional tools of harvest.
