The second Sunday of October for those who go along the stage of the Via Francigena east that starts from Poggio San Lorenzo and arrives in Ornaro, in the municipality of Torricella in Sabina, can take part in the traditional polentata.
The Via Francigena Orientale is the one that starts from Vienna and arrives in Rome on the tomb of the Apostle Peter according to a route that passes through the Veneto region and partly follows the path of Saint Francis.
The last 100 km of the eastern Via Francigena follow Via Salaria, the ancient salt route.
