The third Sunday of august, the festival of the cecamariti of Rocca Canterano celebrates one of the typical dishes of Roman cuisine.
Legend has it that this dish takes name from the fact that, for the ease and speed of preparation it would serve to dazzle their husbands into believing that poor wives had been home a long time busy in the kitchen, when in fact they had been involved in other "chores".
The "cecamariti" (make husbands blind) is a pasta made of wheat flour and corn topped with tomato sauce, garlic and chilli.
