Ladispoli. Roman Artichoke Festival

In April in Ladispoli takes place the Roman Artichoke Festival ("Sagra del Carciofo Romanesco").

Three days of tastings and fun, discovering one of the typical products of the town of Ladispoli: the artichoke!

Raw, cooked and stewed, a weekend to taste the "king of vegetables" in all its forms, thanks to the many stands of producers and restaurateurs present who prepare the artichoke with love in various ways. To the little one, to the Roman, there is really the embarrassment of the choice.

The artichoke festival was born in 1950 with the aim of enhancing one of the best products of this area, the artichoke produced in the area of Ladispoli and Cerveteri.

Thanks to its flavor that comes from the volcanic soils and the proximity to the sea, today this Roman artichoke has reached the DOP denomination.

During the event there are fun parades and live shows. A special moment is dedicated to the competition of sculptures made with petals of the artichoke with which they realize figures with impeccable shapes and detail.

A weekend to discover Ladispoli and the artichoke, with lots of activities and fun for the whole family.
