Acquapendente. Feast of Saint Anthony Abbot

Acquapendente. Feast of Saint Anthony Abbot

Acquapendente celebrates Saint Anthony Abbot with the traditional January 17 procession.

After the procession, as per tradition, the "lord of the party" of the previous year brings three bunches of wax to the new "lord of the party".

Candles that are then collected in a single bunch tied by a ribbon of different color for each of the three decks.

This donation of the candles symbolizes an ancient tradition of the people of Acquapendente, who used this type of offer for each party.
