On Easter, traditions and rituals characteristic of Holy Week in Castrocielo take on a special flavor with a singing event on Palm Sunday.
"Cantando la Palma" is a day of celebrations in anticipation of Easter organized by the municipality in the parish of Santa Lucia.
It begins with the parade of the Cantori di Castrocielo, and neighboring towns, which will travel the streets of the town with their olive branches to the main square.
After participating in the mass and blessing of the olive branches of the singers, the village turns into a stage of folkloristic voices and songs thanks to their performance. To commemorate the day, each group of singers receives a medal to take home along with the blessed olive branch.
Throughout the day it is possible to taste typical products of the Easter period that are made available to participants in the shops of the village and in special stands set up for the occasion.
The following Sunday, that of Easter, the singers wander the streets of the village from house to house, bringing to the inhabitants of the Ciociarian village not only music but a spirit of pure joy.
