Ceprano. Festival of Saint Anthony

St. Anthony is the patron saint of animals and also the protector of Ceprano.

Every year, on January 16, the blessing of the animals occurs and on January 17, the feast day of the saint, a great fair is held near the church and the Franciscan monastery dedicated to the Saint.

St. Anthony was the forerunner of monasticism and the patron saint of animals and butchers.

The legend says that on the night between 16 and 17 animals talk and men should be afraid of what they hear!
