Colle San Magno. Easter Monday

On Easter Monday there is an important procession that involves Colle San Magno and the nearby town of Castrocielo.

Both towns were formed when the inhabitants of the castle of Mount Asprano left the fortress and gave rise to the two municipalities. In memory of the custom of carrying the relics kept in the castle several times in the Church of Monte Asprano several times during the year.

This is why every Easter Monday two processions that start from the respective towns bring two statues of the Madonna on top of the mountain.

Castrocielo takes precedence and arrives in the morning but along the return journey this procession meets with that of Colle San Magno and the two statues make a bow and seem to exchange a kiss.

In the evening, in the main square of the village, the "Easter lady" is burned to the rhythm of traditional songs and dances.
