The most anticipated festival of Saints Cosmas and Damian is the feast of the patrons who gave the names to the village of Santi Cosma e Damiano.
Cosmas and Damian were a apparently twin brothers born in Constantinople and were doctors.
They professed their religion by caring for many people in Syria without being paid and were martyrs under the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian.
