Formia. Festival of St. John the Baptist

Formia. Festival of St. John the Baptist

St. John is the co-patron of Formia thanks to a specific bull of Pope Pius XII and the festival is celebrated in June while in September it is the anniversary of the martyrdom of St. John.

The weekend dedicated to the saint includes religious celebrations with a solemn mass and a procession with the statue of the saint through the streets of Formia.

The evening continues with food and wine stands and live music. The festival ends with sea fireworks.
