The tradition of the flower festival of Corpus Domini is lost in the mists of time and, as in many places in Lazio, also in Rocca Santo Stefano, the streets are decorated with flower petals for the passing of the procession of Corpus Christi.
This tradition has been revived in the 80s by young people, some of whom came from an art school, giving a particularly artistic character to the designs of the carpets of flowers.
The flower ‘paintings’ maintain a religious nature but also relate to issues of a social nature and current affairs.
