Morolo. Madonna of Peace Feast

On the second Sunday of June the streets of Morolo are covered with a carpet of flower petals that form artistic drawings and writings for the passage of the Corpus Domini procession and the feast of the Madonna della Pace.

During the night part of the population divides into groups in order to create this colorful carpet of petals on which the religious procession will then pass.

The story of this feast begins during the First World War and the announcement of peace arrived while people were in church calling for an end to the war. From that moment the image of the Madonna della Pace is carried in procession walking along the alleys covered with flowers.
