The Passion of Good Friday in Sezze is the historical re-enactment in costume of the Passion of Christ and episodes from the Bible.
The origins of the Sezze passion date back to the Middle Ages and were reintroduced in 1933 by the lawyer Filiberto Gigli who supervised the drafting of the texts and directing the drama.
The scenes take place through the narrow streets of the historic centre of the town.
In 1950 the representation of Sezze was recited in Rome for the Jubilee, in the Via dei Fori Imperiali.
The Association of Christ's Passion, that takes care of it, is a permanent member of the Europassion Council, a body set up by the European Parliament which brings together all the municipalities in which these sacred events occur.
