In 1977 a steel cross and platinum work by sculptor Pino Bonavenia was placed on the bottom of the Lake of Posta Fibreno.
In August of each year it is brought to the surface during the "Feast of the crucifix and underwater".
On Saturday evening the Cross is carried in procession around the lake along a path marked by torchlight, accompanied by a procession of boats and canoes.
The next morning the divers return it to the bottom of one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy.
