In February, a week of solemn celebrations in Petrella Salto celebrating San Filippa Mareri.
Filippa Mareri was a baroness who denied the wealthy noble life to follow in the footsteps of the saints such as St. Francis and St. Clare when Franciscanism was in its infancy.
The statue and the relic of the saint are carried in procession through the streets of the village, accompanied by the sisters of the Order of the Franciscan Sisters of Santa Filippa.
The religious celebrations end with the free distribution and the blessing of the traditional broad bean soup and blessed bread.
