The Easter week has a particular flavor to Veroli and every day is characterized by events of particular religious intensity but also historical and traditional.
The Holy Thursday begins with a visit to the Sepulchres: each church has a sepulcher inside it with flowers and other decorations that is opened to the public after sunset in an evening twilight.
The path of Veroli involves passing through seven churches in the historic center: the Church of San Leucio, the Church of Sant'Angelo (whose tomb has particular artistic relevance), the Basilica of Sant'Erasmo, the Basilica of Santa Maria Salome ( in which the Calvary with wooden silhouettes is set up), the Church of the Holy Family (annexed to the female Benedictine Monastery of Santa Maria dei Franconi), the Church of San Paolo and finally the Church of Santa Croce.
On Good Friday there is a very heartfelt procession that starts at 5:30 am and leaves from the Church of Sant'Agostino carrying on the shoulder the Our Lady of Sorrows and the Dead Christ visiting all the tombs of the village.
The procession is opened by the "brothers" of the Confraternity of Charity, Death and Prayer and by the "sisters" of the Pious Union of Our Lady of Sorrows, who recite prayers and sing the Stabat Mater.
Another very special celebration is then that of the Tuesday after Easter in which the Eucharistic Miracle of Veroli is celebrated.
