Veroli. Celebrations of the Eucharistic Miracle

On Tuesday after Easter in Veroli celebrates the anniversary of the Eucharistic miracle.

The miracle occurred on March 26, 1570 when Jesus Christ died on the cross appeared in the church of Sant'Erasmo during the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, that is, what is contained in the tabernacle.

About two o'clock in the morning a consecrated host with a star appeared above the Blessed Sacrament under the eyes of members of the Brotherhood of Mercy.

In the following days, other apparitions were repeated which this time had the face of the Child Jesus, of Jesus dying on the cross, of three hosts and of children in adoration.

The celebrations begin in the church of Sant'Erasmo and continue with a procession along the streets of the historic center.

Pope John Paul II in 2001 wanted to celebrate a mass using the chalice and paten of the Blessed Sacrament and he donated his skullcap to the Basilica of Sant'Erasmo.
