The Christmas “sweet log” of Rocca Priora

The Christmas log is one of the delights that cannot miss in the Roccaprioresi Christmas table. With its delicate dough and its shape it enriches the festive tables with taste and beauty.

The tradition of the log comes from the north of Europe and is linked to the legend of the heads of families who on the evening of Christmas Eve burned a log of wood in the fireplace that was to burn slowly until the night of the Epiphany.

The part of the wood that did not burn was kept as a symbol of good luck for the new year.

The tronchetto is a dessert made with a base of biscuit dough stuffed with cream and cream and then rolled up on itself. It is garnished with a chocolate ganache so as to recall a real tree trunk.

Marcello Vinci has been preparing this dessert for years with a wide and rich assortment of shapes, colors and flavors. The Vinci family have been running their business for generations and are one of the tasty certainties of Rocca Priora.

The Rocca Priora log is handcrafted and enriched with Christmas decorations that reproduce a Christmas village with the nativity in the center.

You can find the Christmas logs in the Bar Vinci right in the center of Rocca Priora.
