    Giuseppe Garibaldi passed through Poggio Mirteto 6 July 1849 with his wife Anita, and he dedicated a plaza and the town Banda Musicale.

    This is called Garibaldina Band and their uniforms resemble those worn by Garibaldi’s Mille force.
