Venice Art Biennale 2015

Venice Art Biennale 2015

It's a crazy busy spring, wonderfully rich in artistic flair.

The 56° Venice Biennale has opened its doors under the theme “All the world's futures”, chosen by Nigerian curator Okwui Enwezor.

Someone called this year's show “The Political Biennale”, as it features the noise, the vibrations and the shock of the world. The President of the Venice Biennale, Paolo Baratta, said:

“Globalisation is a phenomenon of the world of tensions, and of economic and political geography. The Venice Biennale is the place where you see what happens in the world through a better pair of lenses. This is the forum where the global world can be better analysed. This is the melting pot of shared knowledge”.

Artistic creativity, together with sensitivity of the artists, interprets current affairs, characterised by hardest problems and uncertain futures. At Venice Biennale, there are 136 announced artists. 89 of them for the first time. 53 represented Countries, 5 at their first participation - Grenada, Mauritius, Mongolia, Mozambique and Seychelles - others - Ecuador, Philippines and Guatemala – that were absent for a while.

It is a message of evolution and movement which winds through the streets (sometimes falling into the canal), bridges and squares of Venice.

A unique and magical city that thrives on a special magic during the Venice Biennale.

Venice comes alive with vernissages, meetings, rendezvous and parties in a climate of international exchange. It is really exciting to be a witness, if only for one night, and see so much energy and beauty.
