2022 has been declared the new year of culture and tourism between China and Italy after the Covid had interrupted the celebrations in 2020 when the tourism ministers of the two countries met and officially opened the works.
As Discoverplaces we had participated in the work of the presentation and had also been interviewed by Chinese TV Xinhua on the opportunities for collaboration between Italy and China, which were immediately suspended by the pandemic.
The two ministers then came to an agreement and declared 2022 the new year of culture and tourism between China and Italy and we want to celebrate it digitally in our own way with an online event.
On 20 January at 10 a.m., live on Facebook with all our friends who are passionate about China.
China and Italy are so far apart and so close and have much in common. For example, they have the largest number of Unesco sites and a history spanning thousands of years.
This event is the result of a collaboration with the Italian OBOR Institute and involves the new generations of Italians and Chinese that we have somehow met along the way.
The Institute was given the task of inaugurating the meeting with greetings from President Michele de Gasperis, while Claudia Bettiol moderated the event.
Writers, professionals, sinologists and bloggers, each one will tell their own way of seeing the relationship between China and Italy.
For example, we will hear about the Chinese language together with Claudia Unali, author of the manual Chinese for Pessimists. Talking about Chinese cuisine will be Laura Rizzo of ChinEat and Gianni Catani of Dumpling Bar, the most famous in Rome and Lazio.
We will then take a look at the Chinese passion for Italy thanks to some Chinese vloggers who talk about our country on social networks, such as travel vlogger Amelie Wei and Ciso.
