The events organized by the High Ciociaria - Alta Ciociaria DMO, along with other Ciociaria DMOs, continue to showcase the offerings and opportunities of our regions.
Monday, July 28th, was the Anagni stop, following those of Veroli and Paliano. This time, the meeting was transformed into a workshop presenting IEG, the new operator of the Fiuggi Conference Center. Paolo Novi and Maurizio Cianfrocca, destination manager and president of High Ciociara DMO, are spreding enthusiasm among operators showing the reached results.
The theme of the meeting was "Tourism Development in Ciociaria in the Leisure, Conference, and Events Segments," and Fabio De Santis, Event & Conference Director of Italian Exhibition Group, presented his company, the reasons that brought them to Ciociaria, and what they plan to do in Fiuggi.
He expressed his love for our region, which surprised them with the quantity and variety of experiences it offers tourists, and which has the potential to offer even more. The professionalism of the operators they met positively motivated them to continue their field visits in order to present conference attendees with a wide range of experiences. This will be an important incentive to further expand the services offered to an international clientele.
But the offering extends beyond Fiuggi and extends to the entire Ciociaria region, which is increasingly becoming a tourism brand (and we hope it will soon become one for wine as well).
A section of the Anagni meeting was dedicated to the coordination of Ciociaria's DMOs, thanks to the enthusiastic contributions of Alfonso Testa – DMO Terra dei Cammini, Lino Marciano – DMO Stay Ciociaria, and a long-distance message from Federico Campoli of the DMO Valle di Comino.
Carlo Marino, Councilor for Culture for the Municipality of Anagni, and Mayor Daniele Natalia were excellent hosts. They discussed the candidacy of the fortified cities of Anagni, Alatri, Veroli, and Ferentino as Capital of Italian Culture and the positive response from local operators throughout a territory far larger than the administrative boundaries of the cities.
Our presentation focused on a particular segment of conference tourism: Summer and/or Winter Schools for doctoral students, which few operators were aware of. Perhaps we can bring one of the two Summer Schools I helped found with Chose and Pomos to Ciociaria.
And to demonstrate the value of the work carried out by Ciociaria's DMOs to date, the evening concluded with Antonio Russo of the Hotel Italia in Fiuggi, where we opened a corner dedicated to Koreans. We displayed and sold our rosé wine, "Love is a Choice," inspired by the Korean series filmed with Jennie Kim here at Donna Vittori Borgo Agricolo.
Our shared dream is to have the Korean groups spend an extra day in Fiuggi, dedicating it to discovering our Ciociaria.
