Edoardo Bernardi's new exhibition at the Kayros Contemporary Art Gallery in Rome (in the beautiful setting of Via Giulia) opened with a question about reality and its interpretation.
The exhibition is called "Erosion Has Our Eyes" and is a journey into the world of an artist who has decided to constantly overcome the constraints and obstacles he encounters.
"Contemporary art is no longer a mere representation of the world but a representation of the process of research into the complexity of reality, moving from three dimensions to a multitude of new sensory dimensions."These words by Edoardo open a window onto the decomposition of emotions that transcend the rectangular and circumscribed spaces of a canvas to "overflow" and occupy entire walls of the gallery
Perhaps some traits of the initial creative thought can be recognized, but understanding transcends the image and reaches the emotions emanating from the shapes and colors in their harmonious primordial chaos.
Fabio Appetito, who curated the exhibition presentation, defines these visual installations as "tectonic plates." A reminder that forms can move, but the meaning of the whole transcends that of the individual piece.
The predominance of black and red is the hallmark of this artist, poised between transgression and tradition, between euphoria and investigative introspection. But what remains after the visit is a widespread sense of well-being and the feeling that this quest is the true meaning of life.
A life worth living with a smile, because we cannot know what will happen tomorrow and we cannot close ourselves off from the wonder of discovery.
