Pomezia. Rationalist Architecture

The urbanisation of the new fascist centres was very simple and always started from a basic model: a central square, where there was a "Torre Littoria", around which were erected the main public buildings like the town hall, the church, the fascist headquarters, the barracks, the post office and school.

The inhabited zones organized according to the vocation of the city was structured around this central nucleus.

In the case of Pomezia the authority for the building was the ONC – (Opera National Combatants) and designers were the architects, Petrucci, Tufaroli, Paolini and Silenzi.

The Civic Tower was rebuilt after the bombings of World War II.
