Tolfa. Lazio Maremma Park

Tolfa is part of the Maremma Laziale Park. With the fertility of the land and its tourist resources, both archaeological and environmental, the Maremma is one of the most agriculturally developed regions of Central Italy.

The landscape is characterized by cultivated plateaus or open pastures, while near the coast we find a Mediterranean-type flora.

The typical figure of the area is the “buttero”, the Italian cowboy who still lives according to traditions of the past wearing leather leg straps and boots. A characteristic is the saddle designed to comfortably spend the day following the cattle.

Horse riding following the recommended cowboy is one of the best ways to discover the Maremma. This is where the famous white sheep dogs come from, the ones that protect their flocks from all threats.
