The large Italian garden of the Theodoli castle in the center of Sambuci was created in the 17th century by Cardinal Flavio Astaldi and covers an area of over 5 hectares.
Today the garden is a public park where you can recognize the part of the English garden and the Italian one with the hedges modeled as the symbols of the two great families who inhabited the castle, the wheels of the Theodoli and the three circles of the Astalli.
Four statues representing the four seasons have been placed in the park and their story is quite unique, in fact they were stolen and only by chance found by a villager who saw them in a window of an antique shop in Rome.
