On the day of the Festival of San Giovanni in Paliano is also the festival of Comparanza (Blood Brotherhood), a stronger form of friendship. The weekend comprises of music, dancing and a large bonfire through of Fires of San Giovanni. 

It is by devotion and by the district of Terziere Casalino for their patron saint San Luigi Gonzaga that every year we welcome the incomparable charm of ‘Infiorata’.

This event is among the most important that the city offers its visitors, and it traditionally marks the beginning of the summer Pievese events.

Each year is unique, original and unrepeatable as the theme changes every year and always creating designs in an original form.

The climb to the suggestive sanctuary of San Giuseppe da Leonessa on Colle la Croce in Leonessa is divided into seven stages.

Small sacred edicola (roofing) were built on each stage of the route.

The sanctuary was built around 1737.

According to tradition, the patron saint of Leonessa planted a cross here which he carried on his shoulders for 4 km along the impervious mule track.

Three quarters of the way down the path you reach a rock called "the rock" of San Giuseppe.

Here, a spring active since 1628 due to a miracle by the saint who wanted to quench the thirst of his brother Gregory tired from the climb.

On the square you can admire a majestic concrete cross.

The Venerable Brotherhood of St. Sisto Pope and Martyr was founded in 1429 and joined the Venerable Confraternity of SS. Trinita dei Pellegrini in Rome in March 1578. Its purpose was to promote the cult of the saint and help the needy.

After a period of difficulty, January 10, 1990 the brotherhood returned to resume its duties: it collaborated in the restoration of the church dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto and other sacred monuments, and is in charge of organizing the civil celebrations for the feast of the patron.
