Collalto Sabino. The Baronial Castle

Collalto Sabino. The Baronial Castle

The current structure of the baronial castle of Collalto Sabino is the work of restoration by Baron Alfonso Soderini in the second half of the sixteenth century.

At that time, not only the palace but also the fortress was rebuilt to be transformed into an artillery fortress.

The fortress retains its mid eighteenth century appearance (the last period of military use) and consists of a square central tower and two round corner towers with military posts.

The baronial palace is connected to the castle and inside there is a park with an ancient well.

The city wall dates from the fifteenth century and forms part of the old stone houses.
