Monte San Biagio. The Castle

The castle of Monte San Biagio dates back to the thirteenth century and was built on the ruins of a Roman temple.

It has a trapezoidal shape with two towers: one circular which is set against the housing and the other semicircular.

It was rebuilt by the Carolingians and fortified by Onorato II Caetani.

It is mentioned for the first time in a 1099 document.
