At the end of August, the emigrants are celebrated in Prossedi with the Feast of the Emigrant.
The first emigration of family heads took place between 1908 and 1914, especially to Canada, in northern Ontario, to work in the mines and on the railways.
A second wave between 1948 and 1957 went to Toronto, where whole families emigrated causing the depopulation of the town and abandonment of rural land.
In order to preserve the traditions and ‘pisterzana’ culture, the "The Pisterzo Social and Cultural Club" was founded in 1980 in Toronto.
The Toronto Party and Emigrant's Day are celebrated in August when many Canadians come to rediscover their roots.
