Sant'Elia Fiumerapido. Jazz, Pop & Wine

Jazz, Pop & Wine is an original gastronomy and music festival held every summer since 2011 at the Villa Comunale in Sant'Elia Fiumerapido. This is not the usual festival but an event dedicated to organic and natural wines and designed for a careful tasting and for people interested in wine.

Among the experiences that can be experienced in the day there is a workshop for children who try their hand at preparing pasta, while in the evening the opening of the food and wine stands is accompanied by live music with listening to groups of rock, pop and jazz music.

But surely the most interesting aspect of Jazz, Pop & Wine are the meetings with local biodynamic producers and neighboring regions and the tasting of natural wines conducted by Sandro Sangiorgi.

Sandro Sangiorgi is an important name in the enogastronomy world and speaker of the Italian Sommelier Association. He was one of the founders of the Slow Food International Movement and taught in several foreign universities: he is considered the most authoritative teacher of subjects related to wine. He has written for numerous trade magazines to become editor of the magazine Porthos.

Sangiorgi was one of the first in Italy to strongly promote the naturalness and the digestibility of the wine product and to talk about biodynamic agriculture, which is why it is constantly looking for emerging producers who care about the environment with eco-sustainable agricultural crops.

But what strikes and catches more than Sandro Sangiorgi is the passion that transpires from his gestures and the words he uses when he tells about wine in the evenings and during the tasting courses. Wine is considered a living element and as such it must give different sensations to each tasting.

This is why the Jazz, Pop & Wine festival has become a meeting place for wine lovers, for small producers of natural wines and for people who take the environment to consider wine from another point of view.

The review is organized by the CCN (Natural Commercial Center), the Association of traders of Sant'Elia Fiumerapido born in 2010.
