Ausonia. Festival of Laina and chickpeas

Ausonia. Festival of Laina and chickpeas

In August we celebrate one of the typical dishes of the area of Ausoni Mountains in Ausonia in the village of Selvacava with the: festival of laina and chickpeas.

Laina is a particular type of pasta made by hand with water, flour and salt. It is cooked in boiling water and seasoned with sauces or prepared directly with legumes.

The chickpeas are the legumes of these mountains and have represented one of the main forms of livelihood of the population.

An opportunity to live outdoors in the streets of the village tasting traditional dishes with the background of music and dancing outdoors.
