Bassiano. Festival of Lecchene and Coppiette

During the religious festival of the Ascension, Bassiano holds Festival of Lecchene and Coppiette dedicated to one of the traditional dishes.

Lecchene is a handmade pasta made of water and flour that is cooked in large pots with beans.

They are flavoured with 'coppiette', horse or pork tendons, accompanied by good wine from Cori.

During the evening, fireworks are lit in Piazza XXV Luglio and people dance around the bonfires.
