The Chestnut Festival was initiated in the 1930s when Cave was a fun-loving place for the production of chestnuts, walnuts and hazelnuts.
On the last weekend in October, the old village fills for an event of gastronomic tasting in the numerous "pop-up" cellars set up for the 'party'.
Several musical groups perform at different points in the historic centre.
The chestnut, to Cave Citizens, is a very important element and represents a symbol that accompanies childhood memories.
The scent of roast chestnuts in autumn is always present in the images of Cave. During the festival there is the 'BiciCastagnata' race and other sporting events.
