Cineto Romano. Festival of Spelled Wheat Sagne

Spelled wheat was one of the most beloved cereals of the Romans and Cineto Romano is famous for the 'sagne pasta' made with spelled wheat to which a festival is dedicated.

Sagne is a type of handmade pasta made only with flour, water and salt.

Once cooked they are seasoned in various ways and the most famous is that of a tomato and garlic sauce.

Tasting is accompanied by excellent local wine and is enlivened by live music.
