Marino. Festival of Donut with Must

Marino. Festival of Donut with Must

The third Sunday of October in Marino celebrates one of the oldest cakes: the donut with must.

It is a sweet that legend says goes back to the time of St. Francis who came to Marino to visit his disciple Jacopa de ‘Sottesoli.

The known recipe dates back to the seventeenth century when it was generally prepared after the grape harvest and after the must began to ferment.

From Sunday morning in the historic center there are various exhibitions and a fair dedicated to local products. The donuts are in the square and will be distributed after the sacred blessing of the church.

In the afternoon there will be a free tasting to make this ancient traditional product known by the consortium ‘The Ciambella with the must of Marino’ and the day ends with a live show.
