In Sutri the second Sunday of September is dedicated to the Roman gnocco (dumpling), one of the first courses of the local tradition prepared with the famous Viterbo DOP potatoes.
It is presented with different sauces: with tomato sauce and basil, with meat sauce and sausage. But also alla boscaiola (with mushrooms) and with gorgonzola.
It is an opportunity to learn about other traditional products such as the famous "regina" bean.
The gnocchi actually have a long history that precedes the arrival of potatoes in Europe after their discovery of America.
During the day you can take guided tours of the village and the archaeological park with the Etruscan necropolis, the Roman Amphitheatre and the Mithreus.
