Itri. Festival of the Tarita

Itri. Festival of the Tarita

Tarita is a popular festival that takes place outside and inside the castle of Itri.

It joins the entertainment of the summer holidays in August with the tasting of typical local dishes and the famous Oliva di Gaeta.

Tarita means 'high land' and in Itri this is the medieval village near the castle born above Colle S. Angelo.

It starts with games once involving both adults and children.

For them there will be the rupture of the 'pignate' and the race with the bags. The big ones will also compete in eating competitions in the "Gastronomic Olympiad".

Folk music will then give the right frame of the evening.
