Monteleone Sabino. Festival of Fettuccine Trebulana

The Fettuccine alla Trebulana festival in Monteleone Sabino is dedicated to one of the typical dishes of Roman and Sabine cuisine, and also to the memory of an ancient Roman city.

The fettuccine are made with a mixture of water, flour, eggs and salt and stretched by hand by the housewives of the town. They are seasoned in various ways but the traditional one is with bacon, tomato, mushrooms and peas. And above all with the tasty Sabina DOP oil.

The food and wine weekend is enriched by a musical setting with bands performing live in the historic center.

Trebola Mutuesca was the ancient Roman city that was very famous in the territory in the 1st century BC. and of which the ancient amphitheater can be visited while other pieces are visible inside the Civic Museum of Monteleone Sabino.

An opportunity to visit the archaeological area and the suggestive medieval village of Monteleone Sabino located on a hill at the foot of the Sabine Mountains.
