Oriolo Romano. Festival of Porcini Mushroom

Oriolo Romano. Festival of Porcini Mushroom

Two weekends in Oriolo Romano to savour the top flavors and aromas of the forest: porcini mushrooms.

September is the month of the harvest and this festival presents the best of the Alto Lazio mushroom prepared in the dishes starting from the delicious cream spread on bruschetta up to the traditional sauce with which the homemade fettuccine are seasoned.

The porcini are also the key ingredients of a soup with beans typical of Oriolo, while they also are fried to accompany meat dishes.

Alongside the food and wine tastings there will be musical performances and art exhibitions.

It is an excellent opportunity to visit the medieval village but also for a walk in the impressive beech forest that has received Unesco heritage.
