Onano. Lentil Festival

The Lentil festival of Onano is a food and wine event dedicated to this most famous local product of the Onano countryside and is held in mid-August.

It is possible to eat the legume in any sauce: lentils in white (simply dressed with oil, salt, rosemary and pepper) to red lentils with sausage or with squid.

For vegetarians lentils can be enjoyed in a soup with potatoes (vegetables and carrots) or porcini mushrooms.

Recently a dish has been promoted with the name 'Gnocchetti, Lentils and Potatoes', made half with half mashed potatoes and half with lentils.
