The Marcetelli porcini mushroom festival of Marcetelli was created to promote one of the excellences of the woods: the porcini mushroom already appreciated by the Ancient Romans who called it al "suillus".
Mushrooms represent one of the main factors of the local economy. During the festival some local housewives demonstrate how "homemade egg pasta" is prepared.
From morning until late evening, the village comes alive with many gustatory and musical entertainment of popular songs for one of the most famous events in the province of Rieti.
