Carpineto Romano. Roasted Chestnut Festival

Carpineto Romano is the Chestnut City and the Roasted Chestnut Festival (Sagra della Callarrosta) is organized every year in the fall.

The chestnut is the queen in gastronomy ‘Carpinetana’, not only in the preparation of desserts.

It is used in the preparation of pasta and meat dishes, such as ravioli stuffed with chestnuts, fettuccine with seasoned chestnut flour with porcini mushrooms and truffles, and suckling pig roasted with chestnuts.
