Two days are dedicated to snails in the second weekend of September in Castel Sant'Elia.
An original way to visit one of the most beautiful villages of Tuscia and its Sanctuary of Santa Maria ad Rupes set in the countryside.
The days are organized by local farmers who have been repeating this traditional activity for years, following natural and organic methods.
The tasting includes several dishes including: Roman-style snails with spicy sauce, skewered snails with sage and pork cheek, and a snail soup with bruschetta bread.
