Palestrina. Festival of Giglietto

Festival of Giglietto and Prenestini delicacies takes place during the first weekend of August in the centre of old Palestrina.

The festival is dedicated to the iris-shaped cookie (giglio) brought to Palestrina by the Barberini cooks after their exile from Paris.

It offers tasting of local products. It is also possible to taste local wines such as the Cesanese of Olevano Romano and the wines of Zagarolo.
