The Festival of Ciammella - Sagra della Ciammella is a weekend in Veroli dedicated to the Ciammella, one of its traditional dishes.
During the festival, Madonna della Pietà, venerated in the church of Santa Croce, is celebrated.
The donut is made with slightly leavened bread dough to which anise seeds are added and is cooked twice.
In fact, with the mixture you make the characteristic braids that are boiled in boiling water and then cooked in a wood oven.
The program is divided into religious celebrations and festive evenings in the village of Santa Croce.
In this village, craftsmen once stood, with shows, handicrafts exhibition and preparation of the "garofolato", the other traditional dish made with meat castrated cooked with carnation flowers.
The festival ends on Sunday afternoons with the free distribution of donuts.
