Every year, on May 8 in Morolo celebrates the patron saint of St. Michael the Archangel with a feast of ancient origins.
In fact, on the ancient municipal seals of Morolo next to the magnificent inscription communitas Moroli is represented precisely St. Michael the Archangel.
On the occasion, the faithful carry the statue of the saint on their shoulders in procession through the streets of the town.
The places of worship are a cave next to a mountain cliff called Patena, which is accessed via a steep staircase cut into the rock. Here an altar was built and an image of the saint on one of the walls.
Every year, before dawn on May 8, the faithful come to this cave to receive the blessing and take water from a fountain that flowed right into the cave.
It was said that this water had medicinal qualities and useful things in particular to pregnant women or women in the first year of marriage as a support to fertility.
The women make three turns around the altar and then drew the spring water with their hands and washed their breasts, as a propitiation for the introduction of abundant milk for their children.
